Ok readers... now what?
What realistic approach might the Yankees take to make the team a legitimate World Series contender in 2026?
Please post your respectful thoughts and comments below.

Sign Jazz Chisholm immediately to a long-term contract. Otherwise, if he's anything like last year, failing to lock him up now, will make it impossible to re-sign him a year from now. Get ahead of a situation for ONCE!
If they don’t sign Bellinger, first move is to get Austin Hays. We need another righty bat in our lineup and he kills left handed pitching. We are going to need that more than ever with a bunch of lefty starters in our division.
Then they need to put together a package for a solid back of the pen reliever. Trade away a lesser starter (Beck, Selvidge, none of our top tier guys). We are much weaker in the pen this year then we were last year. Perhaps another trade with San Diego, who has a number of solid relievers (Morejon or Estrada maybe).
I do think they are still trying to bet Bellinger but I do think they have made their top AAV offer. i also doubt they will go 7 years, maybe 6 but not 7.
so if NYM or TOR are willing to go to maybe 35 mill AAV, or maybe 30 mill but 7 years, then we are probably not getting him back
for this I will guess that we do keep Belly.
my next move, if i am TRULY trying to make them WS favorite for 2026, and I DO believe this is realistic, is to convince TEX they cannot beat LAD with what they have and blow them away on Seager. and I want them to pay about…
I think trades are and have been what the Yanks are looking to do. Good for Hal's budget - whatever that number is. If we assume the Yankees end up with Bellinger (not a sure thing by any means) then they have five outfielders (Judge, Bellinger, Grisham, Dominguez, and Jones). I could see them packaging Dominguez or Jones along with a pitching prospect for a high leverage bullpen arm.
Too late. All the goodies at the party are gone. They will flirt with 80 to 84 wins, if lucky.
