This question came from longtime reader David. THANK YOU DAVID!
Readers (and writers), please respond to the following:
Imagine for a moment that Brian Cashman decides to take a vacation and that he will miss the entire upcoming season.
Imagine also, that Hal Steinbrenner has been reading Start Spreading the News, and is so impressed by the quality of the analysis, writing, and commenting, that he decides to hire a one year, temporary replacement for Cashman from among the writers and commenters here.
You are being interviewed for the position. Hal asks you, "Although we have made considerable improvements to the team already, what is your plan to finish fixing the Yankees?"
Your answer would have to be succinct because Hal has a lots of other writers and commenters to interview, and it must be a plan that you could convince Hal is rational and doable. Also, Hal is a very busy man and has very little time for this initial interview with you, so that means less than 50 words to your answer. If you exceed that amount, you won't get the job.
ENJOY!

You need fresh eyes to look at this team.
A fresh mind to ask why something is or was done or not done.
I'd empower the manager & coaching staff.
When I'm done, all the support staff, no matter their group would, know the status quo is no longer good enough!
Hire me. I want to win, not just be profitable and finish at .500.
Hire me and if I can't or don't improve the team in two years FIRE ME!😀
1. The team has developed a great prospect development process that allows the team to take middle round pitchers & turn them into pros
2. You need to develop the same for hitting. HIRE Judge's hitting coach Richard Schenck as a consultant to create the same for hitting.
