World Series Game 1: Yankees (0-0) vs Dodgers (0-0)

Cortes is in, and Berti is out!

This is what the Yankees are paying Cole, Judge, Rodon, Stanton, and Soto for.

But still, the Yankees will need major contributions from others.

Can the Yankees stop Ohtani?

Is it true that Boone called the bullpen and Harkey said that Hill just bounced a curve ball?

Why put a pitcher in that spot when he hasn’t pitched in what, a month?

Gleyber's ball was not going out. No way.

Nestor was the wrong choice. I explain this on my podcast. He hadn't pitched in a month. Hill had pitched well.

If the Yankees went to Hill, I would not have said, "THey should have used Nestor." No, that was not the spot for him. No way.

Nestor was the sentimental choice, not the smart choice.

Bill Buckner was the sentimental choice to play first in 1986. He wasn't the smart choice.

This isn't Judge shaming. It's speaking the truth. Judge has missed a lot of pitches right down the middle. It's not like he's faced all-star pitchers either.

It is true that Judge is great. It is true that he'll win the MVP. It is true that he helped get the Yankees to the World Series. It is true that he'll be in Monument Park and maybe Cooperstown.

It's also true that he's been terrible in the postseason.

It's also true that the Guardians and the Dodgers did not fear him in big spots.

It's a problem if there is a player and people can't tell the truth about that player.

We can say he's great. He is. We can al…

The Yankees wasted too many opportunities at the plate. Yes they gifted the Dodgers two runs but they should have scored more than 2 in the first nine innings based on their opportunities. The Yankees are a slugging team not a pitching and defense team.
