We might quantify this one as, "My strongly held belief..." but the way the Yankees lose year-after-year, because of playing a bad brand of baseball (in so many ways) I believe this is a truism as well...

With the talent the Yankees have had, if they simply played smart fundamental baseball (if they had a manager or an organization that focused on the qualities of winning baseball) the Yankees would have won at least one - and probably many - World Series since 2018.

Whether it's sound fundamental baseball, an all right handed lineup (2021), or some other baseball truism, by running the organization strictly through an Analytical lense, you really do not have any way to really fix it.

We're sitting here, lamenting the possibility that Aaron Judge might join Mattingly as among the best Yankees who never won a championship, but will Ben Rice be added to that tragic list as well?
